Adopt Me!
Please note: The goal of WAAGR is to match Goldens
with their forever families. If you are interested in adopting a Golden through WAAGR,
please return to the previous
Adopt Me! page. There you will
find out more information on adopting, including the adoption
application.
Below are some of the dogs that are currently in the WAAGR Adoption Program.

Starr - #656
Starr is a beautiful 9-year-old
female golden who has been with
WAAGR for a while so we could clear
up a yeast infection in her
intestines. She also had surgery for
entropian eye. She still has little
outbreaks of itchiness from her
allergies. Other than that, she is a
sweetheart.
Starr loves to snuggle, is very well
behaved in the house, loves car
rides and walks. She will
always need to have a specific diet,
no dairy, wheat or chicken.
She is also a runner so her forever
home will need a fenced yard.
She gets along with other dogs, but
is stand offish at the initial
meeting and it takes her awhile to
warm up. Her foster family is not
sure how she is with cats as they
don't have one to test her with.
Starr adores the puppy at her foster
home and plays with her non-stop in
the yard. She is not a counter
surfer, does not beg at the table,
is not much of a barker, and walks
well on leash. She does not need
much grooming as her coat is shorter
that most goldens. Her hair
has all grown back in and her eyes
are healed up now. She is just
a wonderful loving dog!

Kenworth (KW) - #845
-
foster with intent to
adopt
Kenworth had a tough
start in life, but
thanks to WAAGR's help
he's on his way to a
happy one! This
8-month-old guy was
rescued from an auction.
He is very nervous and
unsure of his
surroundings since he
was never able to
socialize. Thanks
to his foster family,
he's able to play with
other dogs and is
working hard on his
socialization skills.
Kenworth has a beautiful
coat and eyes. He
has started to play with
toys and loves to play
with the other dogs that
live in his foster home.
He will need a very
special family that will
love him and have
patience with him as he
learns how to be a dog.
His forever home could
include another dog and
a fenced yard would be
great! He will be
ready for adoption April
26 and will be neutered
and updated on shots.

Lady - #763
Lady is a puppy mill dog
that has been through a lot
in her life, but we are
excited to say she has come
a long way in her foster
home! Way to go Lady!
This 8-year-old has been in foster care
for about 10 months and has
a lot of doggy brothers and
sisters. She loves to swim
and go for walks. She is
very shy and will not
solicit attention, but loves
to be petted. Lady loves to
be outside more than
inside. A perfect forever
home for her would include a
fenced yard and a family
with a lot of patience.

Lady part of your family,

Cherry - #849
Cherry is a year-old bundle
of energy looking for her
forever home! She is
just adorable and is very
independent and into
everything! When her
foster family is doing
something, she likes to be
in the middle of the action
and checking things out.
Cherry is not very big,
weighing in at 45 pounds.
One thing
she needs some work with is
walking on a leash.
Her forever home could
include a fenced yard,
although she can clear at
4-foot high fence. She
would definitely love a
doggie friend to play with
in her forever home as well.
A family with kids of any
age would be fine for her
too!
If you are
an active family that wants
to add a furry member to it,
Cherry is your girl!

Gus - #847
Check out this handsome guy!
Gus, a 2.5-year-old golden
was surrendered by his
family due to his severe
allergies. Gus had
been tested for allergens
and had tested positive for
“dust mites,” among other
allergens. Poor Gus!
His foster family changed
his diet and the types of
toys he plays with to help
his situation. His
foster mom also started him
on special baths and the
baths are not given as often
as Gus is doing better and
his hot spots are clearing
up!
Occasionally his foster mom
hears or see him scratching,
calls his name and redirects
his behavior. There are no
signs of hair loss, redness,
or open areas. Hair is
rapidly growing back on his
thighs and groin area, and
his ears are clean and
clear.
Gus could easily go to a new
home with a family that
would continue to support
his current nutrition and
supplement plan. Gus
is a very friendly boy that
could definitely benefit
from an obedience class. He
gets along well with all
dogs of different breeds,
male or female. Gus
seeks out the company of
children and plays very
appropriately. He can be
quite “pushy” through
doorways, mealtime,
attention, and “alarm”
barks, but quiets quickly
when his name is called.
He is solid on housetraining
and is crate trained (he
even has his own crate). Gus
does pull hard on a leash
and likes to dig holes.
His foster family is working
with him on those habits.

Molly - #855
Good golly Miss Molly!
This beautiful 7-month-old
female is an owner surrender
to the WAAGR. Molly is
spayed and updated on her
shots. Her foster
family reports she has a lot
of puppy energy and she's
looking to share that with
her forever home.
Molly loves the water and
loves to play. She's a
very happy-go-lucky girl who
needs a family that can keep
up with her
energy level and enjoy puppy
time with her. Just
look at that adorable puppy
face - who can resist?

Molly, contact WAAGR today!

Jake - #762
Jake is one handsome
guy! This
2-year-old was an
owner-surrender to a
shelter. His
foster mom reports he's
a "big goof" who was
reported to have some
food aggression.
He has done some
growling around treats,
but backs off as soon as
he's corrected. He
loves to play with the
other dogs in his foster
home, but also doesn't
mind being alone.
A recent trip to the
vet uncovered a reason
he may be food
aggressive. He has
a bad tooth that will be
removed and will
hopefully help him feel
much better!
Jake needs a home
with someone that will
teach him to walk better
on a leash. A
forever home without a
fenced yard would be OK
as he doesn't go far.
He likes to grab at your
hand when you look like
you are going somewhere
without him, but it
never hurts. He
just wants to go along!
Cats in his forever home
would be OK too.
Jake is kennel trained,
but his foster mom
doesn't think he needs
to be in one.
A forever home with
kids 12 and older would
be great, especially if
they could teach him how
to play ball!
Contact WAAGR to find
out more about Jake!

Barney - #861 -
adoption pending
Barney is a
2-year-old male that
is now a WAAGR dog.
His eyes are closed
in the picture
because he's
dreaming of his
forever home!
He is an owner
surrender who just
wants to be with
people. He
came from a family
with only a small
dog and the family
felt that he was too
much for them to
take care of - the
way a golden should
be cared for.
Barney is a little
shy around other
dogs and doesn't
really like
confrontation.
He is a happy boy
and his tail is
always wagging!
He likes lay with
you in bed, but
doesn't really
cuddle.
He would do well in
a family that would
play with him, take
him on long walks,
hike through the
woods and even go
boating In other
words, Barney likes
to be included in
family activities!
He would do well
with some basic
obedience class.
Barney does need
some leash work, but
he is very
intelligent and
willing to learn.
A home with kids 12
and up would be
ideal for this
handsome boy.

Barney!

Daisy - #863
Meet Daisy, a
5-year-old black
lab/golden retriever
mix dog. Daisy came
to WAAGR as a owner
surrender. Her
previous owners also
owned a much smaller
dog that had
developed back
problems, so playing
with Daisy wasn't a
good idea for that
dog. And as any dog
lover knows, goldens
love to play!
WAAGR wants to find
this wonderful girl
a new home where she
can play, play,
play!
While Daisy might
look more like a
lab, she has the
wonderfully soft fur
like a golden, the
smaller frame and
the gentle
disposition.
She is only about 50
pounds, has
a beautiful, healthy
coat and is just
great with children.
She is currently in
a foster home with
three young children
and is very well
behaved around them.
She never has
accidents in the
house, won't jump
fences, rides great
in the car, can be
home alone without
being in a crate,
doesn't chew things
up or counter surf.
Daisy gets along
nicely with other
dogs however does
like to chase the
foster cat now and
then. But who
can blame her?
That cat just teases
her so much!
Daisy does pull a
little on her leash
and could use some
extra training in
that area. She
does respond to her
name well and
listens to the sit
command perfectly.
She is a quick
learner and is eager
to please.
Daisy's favorite
thing is to be with
people. She
will be your best
friend and never
want to leave your
side! She is
100 percent loyal
and just wants to be
with you and give
lots of doggy
kisses. This
dog is a perfect
family dog! To

Kobie - #851
Kobie is a big,
9-year-old teddy
bear looking for his
forever home!
He is a very laid
back guy and and his
foster dad said he
doesn't act or look
like a 9-year-old at
all! He is
very energetic and
goes on long walks
with his foster
dad. He is very
friendly and just
wants to be petted
all the time. He
is just a very nice,
well-behaved pet.
Kobie
was raised with
young children and
gets along well with
kids. He was
surrendered to WAAGR
because the wife was
in a bad car
accident and the
father was
overwhelmed taking
care of her, the
three kids and the
dogs. Kobie looks
like a Golden but he
has a little
Newfoundland in him,
having big paws and
a big head!
Kobie is neutered
and updated on his
shots. To find
out more about this
loveable guy,
