Meet WAAGR's Special Needs Dogs
Sometimes, WAAGR takes in dogs that need a little more TLC.  Maybe the dog has a broken bone, a some medical condition that takes a little more time to diagnose, or even something like heartworm.  Whatever the case, WAAGR wants to help give dogs the best possible chance at a new life and to help them find their forever homes.

Recently added to the list is Buddy, who will need surgery for his leg.  To read more about his story and to donate for any of our special needs dogs, click here to go to the Special Needs page.

Saturday, May 17 & Sunday, May 18
WAAGR Perennial Sale
Beautify your yard and help the goldens at the same time!  This event takes place rain or shine on May 17 from 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. and May 18 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.  Be prepared for a plant extravaganza to add some color to the yard this spring.  The event takes place at 2547 W. Wending Dr. in Glendale, Wis. 

We are taking pre-sale orders for this event.  Remember - monies raised from this event go to help the goldens in our care!

Germantown Pet Expo
Time to gear up for the first ever Germantown Pet Expo!  The Germantown Moose Lodge is opening their grounds to groups involved in rescue and WAAGR will be there. The Expo will be on will be held from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.  The event includes a raffle of pet and people items.  The raffle proceeds will go toward the Moose Lodge's children's program Mooseheart.

The Germantown Moose Lodge is located at W198 N10217 Appleton Avenue. Basically at the corner of Appleton Avenue and Lannon Road.

WAAGR’s Really Big Rummage Sale
Wisconsin Adopt A Golden Retriever, Inc is holding its summer rummage sale to benefit the organization.  The event takes place from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. on both days.  There will be new items available both days.  The rummage sale takes place in Menomonee Falls on Hemlock Court off Mill Road.  Shop early and shop often!

Saturday, July 12
WAAGR Golf Outing
Event takes place at West Bend Lakes Golf Club in West Bend.  The event will be held rain or shine and tees off at 8:30 a.m.  Come and enjoy a day of golf, while helping the golden retrievers in WAAGR’s care.  Not a golfer?  Then join the group for the dinner and silent auction later in the day.  All proceeds from the event go to help the golden retrievers that are fostered through the group.  We look forward to seeing you in July!

Volunteer Opportunities With WAAGR!
(Foster Homes Needed)

Have you wanted to help WAAGR and not known where to start!  There are many opportunities for members to volunteer!  One of the main areas we could use some help right now is foster homes.  This means your home would be a place to stay for the dogs until they are ready to be adopted out!  You would also be part of the process to decide your foster dog's "forever home."

Other volunteer opportunities include:
 Assessment - Visit and evaluate a golden retriever needing to be surrendered prior to being brought into our organization. Training is required.
Education - Provide information to the general public to aid in responsible dog ownership and to reduce abuse and neglect of all animals.
Transport - Provide transportation for displaced goldens from a surrendered home or shelter to their foster family.
